Blueberry & Elderberry Syrup⁣

Quite literally putting the SYRUP in SYRUP, with this morning's stack that I topped with homemade blueberry & elderberry syrup. 🥞

Pro: pancakes are delicious.⁣
Pro: elderberries are good for you & are proven to aid your immune system. ⁣
Con: you might want a second stack after crushing the first.⁣

My whole family has been down this last week so I'm trying to find creative ways to sneak in some extra antioxidants, and no one was the wiser. My daughter especially was loving the syrup (recipe below).⁣ We are all just going to continue to rest today and hopefully be able to kick this nasty bug once and for all. Blueberry & Elderberry Syrup⁣
- 1 TBLS of Sambucol Black Elderberry syrup⁣
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries⁣
- 1 TBLS of coconut oil ⁣
- 1 tsp of maple syrup ⁣
Method: ⁣
1. Combine your blueberries, coconut oil and maple syrup and heat in the microwave for about 45 seconds, or on the stove on med-low until coconut oil is melted.⁣
2. With a fork, mash your blueberries in the mixture until they are macerated.⁣
3. Add your Sambucol Black Elderberry syrup⁣ and stir.⁣
4. Top on your favorite waffles or pancakes and enjoy!⁣
